Born in Oregon. Son of pioneers, Endymian & Sarah (Tuckness) Baker, Emigrants of 1853. Husband of Florence, brother of Edward (two brothers married two sisters: Emma & Florence Harris from the Whiskey Hill area south of the river). Father of Clyde, Alfred, Raymond, Roy & Ruby and two unnamed infants. All except Raymond are buried at Pleasant View Cemetery. Alison and Florence were married in Aurora, Oregon.

The original Baker cabin which was built on Corral Creek during the winter/spring of 1853/54 (upon arrival in Oregon, Endymian & family first stayed at a little cabin arranged or owned by John Zumwalt said to be at the mouth of Corral Creek on the W. River). Alison was born a few years after their arrival and was born in the "new" cabin on their farm in a small valley near Corral Creek and where their daughter Tennessee planted a Locust Tree sapling which they brought from their home in Missouri. It still stands, though was severly damaged in the Columbus Day 1962 Storm. Additionally, Endymian brought many apple and other fruit trees from Missouri and planted one of the first orchards in the Valley. Many of those trees still grow.

Alison walked to school at the schoolhouse at Pleasant Hill Cemetery (was still standing in the 1950's and was used for meetings, post-funeral gatherings, and as a voting precinct). Upon Endymian's death, split the Donation Land Claim w/ brother Edward. Owned and operated a timber company w/ brother Edward around 1904-08 in Linn County. Alison & Florence Baker's 1880's farmhouse and 1900 barn still stand on SW Bell Road. Their farm is the last remnant of the DLC still in Baker family ownership and was registered as one of the first Century Farms in Oregon in 1958 by Gov. Holmes and the Oregon Historical Society at a special ceremony at the Oregon State Fair.
