Obituary: Tualatin Valley News, August 10, 1917      John Butson Dies
Word was received here yesterday that John E. Butson, of near Wilsonville had died Wednesday from the effects of heart trouble. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his loss. He was a uncle of Chester and Ben Tooze of Sherwood. Hollingsworth & Son have charge of the funeral, which takes place today. We were unable to ascertain further facts before going to press. It is said Mr. Butson was a man who was well liked by all who knew him.

Mr. John Butson passed away Tuesday after a number of weeks of severe suffering from enlargement of the heart. He was 67 years of age, was born in England, and lived 26 years in this vicinity. Mr. Abbot conducted the services at the Hood View cemetery. He was a half brother of Prof. Tooze of Oregon City. The funeral was exclusively automobiles, the first one of the kind here.
