Oregonian Obituary: Rick was born in Tillamook, Oregon. He served in the army and was a Vietnam veteran. He loved fishing, camping and his infamous road trips. Survived by son, Joshua Merritt; daughter, Aimee Braukman; four grandchildren; father and stepmother, Everett and Joan Merritt; brothers, Larry and Tom Merritt; sisters, Lynne Terry, Patti Merritt, Tracie McBeth, Kim Newton, Bonnie Johnston; numerous nieces and nephews; caregiver and friend, Amy; and his beloved dog, Joe. Preceded in death by his mother, Bette Lusby and his sister, Gayle Merritt. Memorial services will be held June 14, at 3:30 p.m. at Attrell's Funeral Chapel in Sherwood, Oregon.
