Family Contribution:  

Eldest child of Alison and Florence. Middle name: Newell (possibly after the Newell family of Champoeg, since the Bakers were friends with and had business dealings with the Boones, the Zumwalts, the Grahams -- Additionally, the locals on the north side of the river traveled to Champoeg to mill their wheat in the earliest days. That was the nearest mill.). Born on Corral Creek in the original Endymian Baker family cabin, after Endymian moved to another site on the farm and built at Graham's Ferry/Bell Roads. Soon after Clyde's birth, Alison & Florence moved part of the structure by horse and log skids to a higher elevation on Bell Road and enlarged the home several times over the years. Their farmhouse still stands along with two cedar trees planted by Clyde as a young boy. Clyde married Hattie. They had one child, Madeline (spelling?).  Brother of Raymond, Alfred, Roy, Ruby and two unnamed infant siblings who died shortly after birth. Another historical connection for Clyde's middle name of Newell: His mother was a Harris from the Whisky Hill area. That family might have had some interrelationship with the Newell family. I haven't found a blood or marriage connection, but I have only sketchy tree info for her.
